Now and Then
Jeff began his journey at PAVE Academy in Kindergarten in 2011, where he thrived both academically and in extracurriculars, traveling with the chess team in elementary school and playing varsity basketball in middle school. Graduating from PAVE in 2020, he continued his growth at Cristo Rey High School. Now a student at Albright College in Pennsylvania, Jeff is shaping his future, driven by the hard work, perseverance, and passion that PAVE instilled in him.
"Growing up at PAVE Academy, I now fully appreciate how it shaped me into the person I am today. The supportive teachers and welcoming community helped instill strong character and a dedicated work ethic—skills I continue to cherish. Now, as a college freshman, the lessons I learned at PAVE remain a guiding force, helping me navigate new challenges with confidence. I am deeply grateful for the memories and foundation PAVE has given me."

What better way to celebrate Latinx Heritage Month than through food?
We asked our students to share their favorite Latinx dish, and their answers gave us a delicious glimpse into the cultures, traditions, and family memories that make our community so special.
From beloved family recipes to dishes they can’t get enough of, every answer represents a little piece of their heritage and the traditions passed down from generation to generation.
Food has a special way of bringing people together, and we loved hearing our students share a taste of what makes their culture meaningful to them.

Les preguntamos a nuestros estudiantes cuál es su plato Latinx favorito, y sus respuestas nos dieron una deliciosa mirada a las culturas, tradiciones y recuerdos familiares que hacen que nuestra comunidad sea tan especial.
Desde las recetas favoritas de sus familias hasta los platos que más les encantan, cada respuesta representa una pequeña parte de su herencia y de las tradiciones que pasan de generación en generación.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of celebrating the grandparents in our PAVE community!
From fun classroom activities and special photos to heartfelt conversations and unforgettable moments, the day was filled with love, laughter, and beautiful memories.
Grandparents hold sucha special place in our families and in our community. They share their love, wisdom, traditions, and stories with the generations that follow, helping shape the children who make our school community so special.
Celebrating our grandparents is a reminder of how meaningful their presence is in the lives of our
students and how grateful we are to have them as part of the PAVE family.

¡Ayer tuvimos el placer de celebrar a los abuelos de nuestra comunidad PAVE!
Desde divertidas actividades en los salones y fotos especiales hasta conversaciones llenas de cariño y momentos inolvidables, el día estuvo lleno de amor, risas y hermosos recuerdos.
Los abuelos ocupan un lugar muy especial en nuestras familias y en nuestra comunidad. Comparten su amor, sabiduría, tradiciones e historias con las nuevas generaciones, ayudando a formar a los niños que hacen que nuestra comunidad escolar sea tan especial.
Celebrar a nuestros abuelos nos recuerda lo importante que es su presencia en la vida de nuestros estudiantes y lo agradecidos que estamos de tenerlos como parte de la familia PAVE.

One school. One word. So many ways to describe what makes PAVE special!
This time, we are hearing directly from our students! When asked to describe PAVE Academy in ONE word, the words we heard most often were perseverance, community, fun, and family.
Of course, some of our students had a hard time choosing just one word because there are simply too many things they love about PAVE!
Their answers are a beautiful reflection of what PAVE means to them and what makes our school community so special.

Esta vez, escuchamos directamente a nuestros estudiantes.
Cuando les preguntamos cómo describirían a PAVE Academy en UNA sola palabra, las palabras que escuchamos con mas frecuencia fueron perseverancia, comunidad, diversión y familia.
Por supuesto, a algunos de nuestros estudiantes les costó elegir una sola palabra porque simplemente hay demasiadas cosas que les encantan de PAVE.
